Former Jam Ally presenter and Generations actress Vinolia Mashego has passed away on Saturday the 4th of April.
The whole country is in shock to hear the devastating news of the passing of Vinolia Mashego aka V-Mash. She was widely popular in the 90s for being the presenter of the SABC show Jam Alley.
On Monday Vinolia’s sister-in-law Palesa Mashego has confirmed the sad news saying that she died on Saturday in her bed at her house in Mamelodi. The cause of her death still remains unknown to the public. Her family claims that she was not ill at the time of her death and her mom went into hysterics.
Many South African celebrities have started sending out condolences to the Mashego family.
Andile Ncube tweeted: “Not sure if it’s true about VMash but if it is, then The Greatest Of All Time has left the building…no one has gone close to her artistry and genius as a Host/presenter. #RIPVMASH,”
Also Bonang Matheba has something to say, “Not even close. She inspired my entire presenting style- the vernac, catchy phrases, huge personality…she was everything I wanted to be…this one cuts deeps,”
Also the SABC that V-Mash has worked with for almost two decades has sent heartwarming condolences to her family. Vinolia Mashego or rather V-mash died at the age of 56 and she will be laid to rest this Friday during lockdown.
She will be remembered for her unique catchphrases, township vernacular and colorful personality. She was indeed an icon that contributed so much to the South African entertainment industry. Her legacy will live on forever.
